In 1988, the first Family Farm School, the Dagatan Family Farm School (FFS) in Lipa City, Batangas, was established with a philfeffars horizontal logomission to provide the rural youth opportunities to pursue higher education, develop work and technical skills, form right values and habits, and develop entrepreneurial skills, allowing them to live in dignity, capable of embarking on a project in order to improve their lives and the situation of their families and communities.

Today, there are 11 FFS and 4 Farm Business Schools operating in the country, under the guidance of PHILFEFFARS, which has extensive experience and an existing network with farms, cooperatives, and agri-related enterprises nationwide that currently offers secondary and post-secondary education, as well as short courses and mentoring to update technical knowledge and skills of professionals in agri-entrepreneurship.
