Program Features

  • A nationwide undertaking that will benefit college students who wish to pursue (or are pursuing) Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or agriculture-related courses.
    Offered initially in the following universities:

University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)

Central Luzon State University (CLSU)

Visayas State University (VSU)

Central Mindanao University CMU)

University of Southern Mindanao (USM)

  • Open for incoming first-year, second-year and third-year college students. For 2nd Semester 2013, the scholarship is open to 2nd & 3rd year candidates only.
    The scholars will be given a 100% subsidy for tuition, monthly stipend, and book allowance.
  • Internship opportunities can be made available at IRRI and LANDBANK upon review of application.
  • Depending on the budget balance for each scholar, a research grant/ thesis funding not to exceed a one-time grant of PHP30,000.00 may be provided through the scholarship.
  • The graduates shall be obliged to render service to the agricultural sector for a minimum period of one (1) year, either in government institutions or partners of LANDBANK in the private sector (e.g., cooperatives and microfinance institutions).
  • Successful graduates may be given priority in employment by the Bank and its subsidiaries, provided they meet the qualification requirements of the position.

Program Objectives: Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program

  • Provide educational assistance to poor but deserving dependents of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), cooperatives, and Local Government Units (LGUs) where LANDBANK operates, particularly in the field of agriculture;
  • Provide responsive and flexible scholarship program from education  to employment (e2e);
  • Increase awareness of and interest in agriculture among the youth;
  • Provide a solid base of formal education for the next generation of rice scientists and farmers; and
  • Reinvigorate the agricultural and cooperative sector with much-needed professionals who shall pursue agricultural growth and development for the country.
